Syracuse will honor Pearl Washington on Dec. 17 after the SU legend died on April 20.

Syracuse will honor the late Pearl Washington at its game against Georgetown on Dec. 17 in the Carrier Dome, SU announced Thursday afternoon.

Washington, an Orange legend, died in April at age 52 while battling a malignant brain tumor. He is considered one of the greatest players to have ever played at Syracuse.

Students with the season ticket package will be able to secure tickets to the game, despite it not being a part of the season ticket deal, according to the release. Other home games in between the fall and spring semesters are not a part of the package.

The tribute will also include a “31” logo on the Dome court at approximately the same distance from where Washington shot his iconic buzzer-beater against Boston College on Jan. 21, 1984.

A limited number of $31 seats will be made available and backcourt activities that honor Washington will take place.
