Kayla Treanor and Mallory Vehar earned All-ACC honors this season.

Syracuse attack Kayla Treanor and defender Mallory Vehar were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference women’s lacrosse team by an ACC head coach vote on Tuesday afternoon.

Treanor was named, for the fourth consecutive year, to the first team. Vehar earned second-team honors.

Treanor leads Syracuse in every offensive statistical category with 69 points from 41 goals and 28 assists. She is first in the nation with 154 draw controls. Treanor leads the ACC in assists per game (1.75) and draw controls per game (8.94). She also ranks second in the conference for points per game (4.25).

On April 23 against Louisville, Treanor scored her 251st goal, breaking Syracuse’s all-time goals record of 250 previously set by Christina Dove, who played at SU from 2007 to 2010.

Vehar, the senior captain, is tied for the lead on the team with 13 caused turnovers and ranks third in groundballs (23) and draw controls (23). Her teammates largely credit her for the defensive communication which turned the team around after a 13-8 upset on the road to Boston College and led the Orange on an ensuing five-game win streak.

The Syracuse defense has held opponents to 10 or fewer goals 11 times this season.

The two All-ACC honorees lead the No. 2 ACC tournament seed Orange into Blacksburg, Virginia to play No. 7 Boston College in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 5 p.m.
