Actress Taraji P. Henson to speak Wednesday in Goldstein Auditorium

Actress Taraji P. Henson, known best for her role in the TV show “Empire,” is coming to Syracuse University.

Henson, who plays Cookie Lyon in the show “Empire,” is coming for “A Night with Taraji P. Henson” on April 1 at 7 p.m. in Goldstein Auditorium in the Schine Student Center. Tickets for the event are $2, and the talk is presented by the National Pan-Hellenic Council.

Henson, 44, also starred in “Boston Legal” from 2007–08 and the CBS show “Person of Interest” from 2011–13.

The Washington, D.C-native was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2009 for her role as Queenie in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” For that performance, she won the BET Award for Best Actress. Henson has also appeared in “The Karate Kid” (2010), “Think Like A Man” and “Baby Boy.”
